About Us
The Nelson Law Office P.C. draws upon extensive experience and provides the highest standard of legal representation. Our matters range from simple uncontested cases to complex litigation. Our attorneys are acquainted with the judges, court staff, and other matrimonial lawyers practicing in Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens counties, which helps us resolve our clients' matters. We are also mindful that divorce litigation can be stressful and expensive, and counsel our clients on strategies to reduce costs and effectuate favorable settlements.
Principal Attorney
Kimberly I. Nelson
Kimberly I. Nelson is the principal attorney of The Nelson Law Office P.C. She graduated from Swarthmore College in 1998 and St. John's University School of Law cum laude in 2002, where she received the CALI Award for Excellence in Family Law.
After working for several years as an associate at a Manhattan law firm, Ms. Nelson joined her father to practice family law with family. Since taking charge of the firm, Ms. Nelson continues to represent clients in a variety of family matters, including divorce, separation, and prenuptial agreements. It is her goal to make a difficult time easier with calm and professional guidance.
Ms. Nelson is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, and of the Matrimonial Law and Family Court Law & Procedure Committees of the Nassau County Bar Association. Ms. Nelson is a trained collaborative attorney and former member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals, and the International Academy of Divorce Professionals. She has also volunteered as a mock trial judge at high school competitions.
